Doug blystone
COACH & EDUCATOR
Doug has been in the space of coaching and coaching education for nearly 20 years.
Doug has experience in taking teams to Nationals, coaching college teams, taking teams to state playoffs for high school and dozens of tournament medal finishes including medal finishes every year he had coached club volleyball. Doug became a CAP cadre member in 2012. Doug also is a Level II BCAP certified coach (Beach CAP) and has taken the VCAP (Volleyball Conditioning Accreditation Program) with USA Volleyball. Additionally, Doug has a pair of master’s degrees, one from Concordia University-Irvine in Coaching and Athletic Administration, and one in Information Science from Widener University. Doug also holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Doug has obtained several certifications with ISSA (international Sports Sciences Association) including:

* Certified Nutritionist
* Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach
* Certified Specialist in Sports Nutrition

Coach & educator
BJ LeRoy works in a variety of volleyball venues, with 30 years of experience in the sport. His main focus remains in helping coaches to learn effective and efficient training methods. He has coached everything from adults to 4-year-olds, indoor and out, boys and girls.
BJ studies educational methods and “reaching” youth through sports and effective coaching. He lectures internationally on combining teaching with coaching; motor learning; safety in sport; youth sport development; and coaching education. Most all he believes in a Safe Learning Environment for athletes and coaches, where both can reach high performance levels.
BJ is an administrator for the largest volleyball coaching organization in the world, Volleyball Coaches and Trainers (Facebook) with over 23,000 members.
He lives in Sheboygan, WI, USA with his wife Shelli (a 5th grade teacher and former coach), daughter Carsyn (an accomplished setter) and son Sam (a decent backyard player in his own right).

dan mickle
Coach & educator
Mickle has been coaching volleyball for over 25 years. He is currently the head women’s volleyball
coach at York College of Pennsylvania (NCAA DIII). Mickle is also the lead coach for the USA
Volleyball ParaBeach volleyball program, which won the 2018 Men’s World Championship, while
the women’s team captured the silver medal. Mickle has coached at every level of the sport from
recreational to the professional levels, both indoors and on the beach. Mickle amassed over 100 wins at the men’s junior college level with the Harrisburg Area Community College team as well
have achieving over 100 wins at the boys’ high school level with Red Land High School. Mickle is
also a member of the 2x defending national sitting volleyball champion team “Sit Happens”. As a
player, Mickle won the USA Volleyball Men’s Open Beach National Championship in 2000 and also
earned a 2001 silver medal in the Co-Ed division.
Dan founded Soul Performance Academy (717 Soul, LLC) in 2006. Mickle often provides one-on-one training, workshops, seminars, and in 2020 Soul Performance Academy launched its e-Campus for virtual and self-paced training options.
